This subject introduces the student to the principles of refrigeration, refrigerants and lubricants, refrigerating machinery, electrical circuits and controls, insulation, brine and air circuits, troubleshooting, servicing techniques, electrical fault finding, energy conservation practices, safety precautions and effects of refrigerants on the environment, and the development of future plants. Extensive use is made of the Institute’s refrigeration training plant and examples of components from industrial applications.
